Stem Aspiration Assembly
STEM ENTERPRISE WEEK ASSEMBLY.
As part of Enterprise Week, Mrs Hussain (supported by the Primary Futures Trust) organised a gender stereotype busting assembly based around careers in the STEM industry sector.
We invited six visitors into our assembly, and they each answered the children's questions and gave us lots of clues about their careers. Then they left and either got changed into their work clothes, or collected props that revealed their jobs to us! We had a Telecommunications project manager, a health and safety scientist from a chocolate factory, a hospital pharmacist, a chemical engineer and a computer-aided designer.
Following the assembly, Year 6 had a Round Robin session with the different visitors. They were able to ask questions about what their career paths and also what the work entails. They all left the hall incredibly inspired and energised about STEM!
