For many children, secondary school represents a huge step and transition in their learning journey. Whilst the move to secondary school is exciting, it is also a big change and it is not surprising that parents and pupils may feel anxious. We aim to make the transfer from primary to secondary education as easy and informative as possible.
Whilst this year, the transition process will look different, we still want our children to be as prepared as they can be.
Below is a link to a website that is all about transition and mindset and has been designed for use during Covid. It links to one of Matthew Syed's books, which we have used in school with our work on growth mindset. You don't have to have a copy of his book to do the work because it consists of a series of PowerPoints with embedded videos (the PowerPoints can also be found below).
Once you've clicked the link, scroll down slightly to 'Year 6 - Be Awesome, Go Big' to find the relevant resources.
Children can print off the work booklet, if you wish, but there is an editable one that can be worked directly on. Also, they can complete the work in their home learning books or it can be discussion based.
