Enterprise Week and Careers Fair
Thomas Harding pupils were transformed into budding entrepreneurs this week as we undertook our second successful Enterprise Week. Across the school, children took on a variety of roles including product designers, marketing experts and creative executives to plan, design, make and evaluate a range of products, which culminated in a Trade Fair at the end of the week, which proved extremely popular with parents and carers. Products included: tie-dye bags, bookmarks and bracelets, healthy snacks and smoothies. The children had an amazing week; finding out about what makes you successful in business whilst also developing skills such as effective communication, team work and resilience. The end results were fantastic, proving that aspiration and achievement really do work hand in hand.
The week also saw us holding our first 'Careers Fair'. Working alongside our local and wider community, we were privileged enough to have a large number of visitors in school showcasing first-hand what it is like to be part of the working world and the steps needed to get there. Our children demonstrated excellent questioning skills when interacting with our guests and a number commented on their confidence in communicating effectively. A thoroughly enjoyable and inspirational experience.
