Wider reopening of school
So, following the decision to reopen schools more widely we have had a very busy week preparing to open to more pupils after half term. Myself and the SLT have held meetings this week to plan and risk assess the provision that we plan to offer. The Government have issued 43 separate pieces of guidance this week, and these have all needed to be digested, understood and turned into plans and procedures. The ODBST trust have been incredibly supportive, and have held bi-weekly virtual headteacher meetings, to share plans and offer guidance.
We are sending out letters today to those Year 6 pupils that have asked for a place, and then we will pause admissions for at least 2 weeks to give us a chance to test all of our plans and find the teething issues! The Trust have instructed us to close for two inset days at the start of the next half term, and that will give us a chance to get everything ready to open our doors to children on June 3rd.
Have a lovely half term and stay safe.

A Mixed Week
It has been a very mixed week, on the one hand we have had lots of guidance from the government behind the scenes about the wider opening of schools, which as I am sure you can imagine, means a lot of meetings, discussions and planning. On the other hand, in school the children continue to be delightful, full of energy and resilient.
3 BEATS VIDEO
This week Mr Baker created another video to bring the school community together, as he asked families to send in clips of them 'passing the beats' around THJS. We shared the video on our social media platforms, but I will also add the link below. Thank you to everyone who took part.
Science in School

Welcome to May!
Thursday 7th May 2020
We have had a very busy week in school, it has been so lovely to welcome some new children into our Key Worker provision. The mornings are spent learning, with Maths and English lessons planned and then in the afternoons, children learn a variety of new skills in the wider curriculum.
This week the children have been celebrating VE Day in school. At the end of last week, the children planned a fabulous menu in Design and Technology, and then this week they held a 'GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF' competition to celebrate this special occasion. They baked all of the delicious treats themselves, and they even managed to source some of the ingredients from our school garden.
They also decorated bunting, which now hangs proudly outside the school. Have a lovely VE bank holiday tomorrow. The weather is set to be glorious!
